BUDGET NOTICE
On April 8, 2025 the Village of Dexter Board of Trustees adopted the budget for the fiscal year June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026 a copy is on file at the Village Office, 509 Liberty Street, Dexter, NY 13634 and is available for viewing during regular business hours Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm.

REFUSE INCREASE
Due to rising costs there will be a refuse rate increase to $46.00 per quarter. This increase will be reflected on the July 2025 billing.

BURN BAN
The annual state ban in outdoor burning begins on March 16th and extends through May 14th. Open burning remains the single greatest cause of wildfires in New York.

The Village of Dexter is Honoring its Service Members!
The Village of Dexter is launching a Hometown Heroes Banner Program as a living tribute for our community to honor past and present members of the Armed Forces. The banners, similar to the one above, 2.5'X5', will be hung on utility poles lining the village streets. PARKING
Whether there is snow or not, the parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited on all highways or between the sidewalk and the street within the village of Dexter, between 2:00 am and 6:00 am November 1st to April 1st, violators will be ticketed or towed or both.
Basketball hoops or any other obstructions within the Village Right of Way need to be removed. The Village will not be responsible for any incidents and or damages that may occur from such obstructions.

VILLAGE OF DEXTER PRIOR NOTICE LAW
No civil action shall be maintained against the Village of Dexter for damages or injuries to person or property sustained by reason of any highway, bridge, sidewalk or culvert being defective, out of repair, unsafe, dangerous or obstructed unless written notice of such defective, unsafe, dangerous or obstructed condition was received by the Clerk of the Village of Dexter; and there was a failure or neglect within a reasonable time after the giving of such notice to repair or remove the defect, danger or obstruction complained of.
